Dollar Stretcher The website is full of thrifty tips for year-round living, but this particular list will help you with some cost-saving summer ideas. Some examples include being a tourist in your own town; having a movie double-feature with friends, snacks, and some rented movies; and keeping a weekly family journal to record the good memories.
Educator's Reference Desk The Educator's Reference Desk builds on over a quarter century of experience providing high-quality resources and services to the education community. Home Educators Association of Virginia Since 1983, HEAV has been promoting and protecting home education in Virginia through information, legislation, and resources. Full-time office staff and dedicated volunteers answer questions and provide counseling. HEAV offers a FREE magazine and e-newsletter, one of the largest homeschool conventions in the country, a used-curriculum sale and statewide graduation, and an extensive website with support group listings and in-depth, Virginia-specific information. HEAV also publishes the 1,000-page Virginia Homeschool Manual.
Home EDucators Resource Directory Home school resources are listed by subject, geographically and by search. This directory of home educators information is constantly updated with subscribers receiving updates and timely information via email.
Homeschool Classifieds We are one of the largest sites on the web for buying and selling new and used homeschool materials, and for finding and announcing homeschool groups, activities, and events.
Homeschool Curriculum Advisor A homeschool mom created this website to help people (who often feel overwhelmed) select a curriculum likely to be suitable for them. She covers learning styles, worldviews, curriculum review websites, major curriculum methods, and suppliers. While she recommends buying certain products, you can also borrow books from the library, or do your own online research and dig for the answers yourself. A local homeschool group, whether concrete or virtual, can help answer those questions after you have researched.
Home School, Inc. If staying organized and keeping good records has been a challenge for you that detracts from the time and energy you have to give to teaching, we want to help. We have created a comprehensive planning, recording and storage application that will help. You will not need to labor over paper schedule books or worry about losing all your information in a computer crash.
