Petco: Fur, Feathers, and Fins
The program allows children to learn about the characteristics and habitats of fish, reptiles, birds, and small animals. At your local PETCO, lessons in science, math and geography come to life through this hands-on field trip. As students develop a respect for animals, they will also develop a greater sense of responsibility.
Grades: K-8

Virginia Beach
Dog Training Classes
Dog Training for children classes meet once a week and run 45 min-one hour. Applause 4 Educated paws combines kids and canines and through play offers the following benefits tio children: Builds confidence, develops empathy, enhances problem-solving skills, creates trust and builds attachement, encourages expression, increases communication, provides safety while playing with children.
Ages: 9-Up

In addition to the usual animal facts, you'll find information on the plants at the zoo, zoo careers, along with science projects, recipes, games, crafts, videos, and live cams.
Grades: K-6

Cornell Lab of Ornithology
Learn about city birds, watch birds for science, get involved in projects to “green” up your community, and increase conservation awareness.
Grades: K-12

The Elephant Sanctuary
The Elephant Sanctuary in Hohenwald, Tennessee, is the nation's largest natural-habitat refuge developed specifically to meet the needs of endangered elephants. It is a non-profit organization, licensed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, designed specifically for old, sick or needy elephants who have been retired from zoos and circuses.
Grades: K-8

Virginia Racing Commission
Since the first colonists arrived in Jamestown, horses have been vital to human survival. Throughout the Commonwealth’s history, horses have helped us farm, carried us to explore the frontier and pulled our barges, wagons and trains.
