The Skin of Our Teeth
Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, The Skin of Our Teeth is the satiric story of the extraordinary Antrobus family through the ages.This family has survived flood, fire, pestilence, the ice age, a dozen wars and as many depressions. Ultimately bewitched, befuddled and becalmed, they are the stuff of which heroes and buffoons are made. Their survival is a wacky testament of faith in humanity. Jefferson Thanksgiving
The 14th annual Jeffersonian Thanksgiving Festival in historic downtown Charlottesville has more than sixty events and activities to take you back to era of the American Revolution. Step back in history and mingle with about 150 statesmen, soldiers, craftsmen, clergymen, and citizens for a "Day of Public Thanksgiving" proclaimed by Virginia Governor Thomas Jefferson. Enjoy battle reenactments, period music, games and craft demonstrations, carriage rides, dancing, concerts, lectures, and more. Your children will remember this history lesson!

Sanders Family Christmas

At Jamestown Settlement, learn how food was gathered, preserved and prepared on land and at sea by Virginia's English colonists and Powhatan Indians. At the Yorktown Victory Center, learn about typical soldiers' fare during the American Revolution and trace the bounty of a 1780s farm from field to kitchen.
